Enigmail is a seamlessly integrated security add-on for Interlink Mail & News and Postbox. Mozilla Thunderbird is supported until version 68. Enigmail allows you to use OpenPGP to encrypt and digitally sign your emails and to decrypt and verify messages you receive. Enigmail is free software. Since Tails 4.13 (November 2020), Thunderbird 78 replaces the Enigmail extension with built-in support for OpenPGP encryption. If you used Enigmail before Tails 4.13, follow the instructions below to migrate from Enigmail to Thunderbird 78. Tails does not include Enigmail 2.2, the last version of the extension, which automates this migration. See also the official OpenPGP in Thunderbird. The Enigmail Add-on has made it possible to use Thunderbird with external GnuPG software for OpenPGP messaging. Because the types of add-ons supported in Thunderbird will change with version 78, the current Thunderbird 68.x branch (maintained until Fall 2020) will be the last that can be used with Enigmail.
All email applications on this page support the OpenPGP standard either directly or with additional software. The authors of this webpage are not actively participating in the development of each of these third-party apps.No security audits have been done by us and, thus, we cannot provide any security guarantees. Browser Plugins
Webmail Provider with Browser Plugins
A lot of webmail providers support email encryption via the OpenPGP standard using Mailvelope. The Mailvelope website provides a list of supported webmail providers.
Providers with help pages:

Pre-configured (authorized) providers: G.c driver.
Other authorized providers with API support: Download elgato driver.
Webmail Provider with In-Browser Cryptography
In contrast to the previous section, the following webmail providers do not require the installation of additional browser plugins, instead OpenPGP is implemented in JavaScript provided directly by the website. While these are easier to set up and provide basic security guarantees with OpenPGP, some people don’t consider these “end-to-end secure”.
- Hushmail (limited OpenPGP support)
